We leave Cape Town in our comfortable air conditioned vehicle and head off up the N7 in the direction of Namibia. First stop is at the Clanwilliam Dam where we have a leisurely picnic and enjoy the pristine mountain air.
Then onward through Namaqualand to Vioolsdrif where we enter into Namibia via Noordoewer.
We setup camp on the banks of the mighty Orange River at the Felix Unite camp site.
We begin with 12km of rowing and end at the Felix Unite camp site where we have a fabulous brunch before setting off for Mariental by road. We sleep over at Narris where we have a BBQ, sit around a welcome fire and chat.
At Narris you will have the option of taking a helicopter flight with the owner if the helicopter is available on the day and weather conditions are favourable. Magnifent scenery and views of the Hardup Dam! Flights are an optional extra.
We enjoy a delicious brunch after which you have an opportunity to participate in a Springbok hunt. For those who do not participate, someone is always willing to hunt on your behalf. You will also have the opsion not to hunt and rather go on a game drive.
While we're away enjoying the rest of our trip, your biltong and droewors is being made for you to collect upon our return!!
We sleep over at Narris again before departing on our journey further north.
Early morning we leave for Sossusvlei to marvel at the majestic sand dunes. We get to climb to the top of the famous "dune 45" where the view is simply breathtaking.
We visit Sesriem Canyon with the most stunning rock formations.
Brunch and then on to Walvis Bay via Nauklift Park and Solitaire. We pass "dune 7" where (if you still have sufficient energy) you can have a try at climbing to the top. Overnight at Swakopmund.
Great excitement as we get to choose from several activities. Fishing in Henties along the beach or out to sea by boat for the day.
Those who do not participate in the fishing get to go to Walvis Bay for a boat trip. Enjoy champagne and oysters and delight in the dolphins, pelicans, seals and turtles who entertain us as we enjoy the views.
We take to the road in 4x4's to Sandwich Harbour to view and drive the giant dunes. Then back to Swakopmund for a delicious seafood meal.
On foot we explore Swakopmund's beautiful historical buildings including the famous Crystal Museum, aquarium, shops and entertainment places.
Ladies who are interested will have a moment to be pampered by Lucia to have a manicure.
During the afternoon we head out to the dunes for a quadbike trip to view a spectacular sunset over the Atlantic ocean.
An early start and we head out to Hentiesbaai and then inland towards Spitskoppe where we enjoy brunch.
On to Windhoek where we overnight at Arebush camp.
We visit the internationally renowned Joe's Beerhouse to enjoy eisbein and gluwein.
Back to Narris in Mariental where we're met with a delicious brunch. We collect our biltong and droewors in Mariental and head on towards Noordoewer where we overnight on the banks of the Orange River.
We head back to Cape Town through Namaqualand where we will see the most amazing display of wild flowers (seasonal).
